My wife and I took a very short trip to Paris a few years back because we found cheap tickets from DC (which is basically the only way we like to travel). It was the week before Christmas and it was our first time going together. We averaged 11 miles a day walking for the 4 days we were there. We stayed up late and ate French food and drank French wine. We explored all over the city. I remember being impressed by how she walked around in these long black boots that had heels. I was wearing normal shoes and my feet hurt. Paris is magic. Paris is dirty and beautiful. I think seeing things for the first time with someone you love changes the perspective entirely. You are experiencing it together and that makes all the difference. We flew home feeling like we left too soon and drove from Baltimore to Bowling Green, OH for my family Christmas. It was like... were we really just there? Was that just a dream?
